May be just a club race, but this was my first race with the F1R. I had built the car months prior... but didnt know what i was doing apparently. This Second attempt seemed to be much more driveable.

I have a set of F103 foam in the mail from Ebay, so that should hopefully sort things out. I have also been looking at the rsector widening kit, but I find it somewhat expensive. A F103 front end will do the trick but then I need a new body so that will have to wait.

13.5 should be OK, drove last year with my old F109 with 13.5T. Track is large, OK to drive 1:5 cars on.

i too hope for higher track temp!

The spring, I'll see if I can get my hands on a softer one.

Again Thanks Mike!
Any time

this is the best handling f1 rubber car that I've ever driven. I was using the shimizu front soft and rear hard tires with stock inserts. Car handled great!
I hope this will revive the f1 class around here.

Thanks for the help folks ! Mike, fellow club member buying a new F1R conversion after seeing mine. I'm a hell of a salesman considering I haven't run this car yet !! Also, just got my new arms and springs in the mail. Great service !!
Anybody using that TRG side shock instead of the 12R unit on their F1R ?? Only found one comment in previous posts.
Regarding the upper mount, the stock F104 unit only provides for 0 and 1 degree camber. Anybody share opinions on the 3R or Yeah Racing alloy units which allow adjustments up to 3 degrees ?
BTW, anyone know whats happened with Chevron ? Seems most of their bodies are unavailable.

Make sure when you go to softer springs that the center chassis does not bottom out. May need to raise ride height and preload collar.

Best Body?
Best Front wing?
Best Rear Wing?

I had heard F60 body(51397) and newer mclaren wings(51430), true?

Uh wow, interesting front end. It's definitely not an F1R though. I don't think i've ever seen an exotek chassis with stepped sides like that.

Generally a matter of opinion. In my limited experience, F60 seems to be the most popular.

I have run both back to back. Maybe, MAYBE, the McLaren wing has some more downforce, but it might just be my imagination.

New F1R conversion checking in. This time it's for a F103GT. Tracktime shakedown is planned for tomorrow over @ the NorCal hobbies asphalt track. I opted for the Exotek alloy twist nuts for the removal of the rear damper mount - highly recommend this setup.

Still enough clearance even with the biggest LiPo pack I have :

I prefer the F60 body. Much easier to build, paint and sticker up and possibly more stable.

It is an Exotek- EXO104 (discontinued) that has been dremeled a bit.

I'm running into some issues with the front tires (Shimizu 571/72) skipping on high-speed sweepers on carpet. Any suggestions for this? Is damping the kingpin with a heavier grease the general solution?

I know it may not be a problem specific to the F1R, but just thought i'd throw it out there.

Thanks!
