Not everyone is haveing problems with this motor in boosted 17.5t.The only reason I would have to email Trinity is to thank them for a good race winning motor

I have not experienced any problems with my motor . I replaced my SP V3 with the RevTech. I just need to get the sweet-spot for this motor by means of timing advance and ESC settings. The SP V3 had max motor timing of 10%, that is why I need to know what the RevTech's max timing. At this stage i'm basically runnig the same settings which was used on the SP V3.

This is not stupid question, but I've had a hard time trying to work how many degrees each line is.Some ppl say 4,5 or 8 degree,I think each line is = to abouut 5 degree

I would say that each line on the timing ring is 8 degrees

Straight from Trinity the D3 and Revtech end bells have 8* for each tick of timing.

Stupid question again.......there are 10 lines on the motor , does that mean there is 80* timing.? Does not make sense to me

Cool

These are questions that should be documented in the instructions included with motors.

Sadly this is a weak spot from most motor manufactures.
How much timing at the neutral position, and how much each line adds.

Not that everyone reads the manual though

edit:
straight out of the RT box.
We recommend keeping the motor timing between zero and 20 degrees (.080 rotation of the endbell)
And no more than 40 degrees in your esc.

No note about lines on the endbell.

Waiting on the exact answer from the designer. I'll post as soon as I hear. I do know that the large mark in the center is 30 degrees.

No, you have a 0(Center) mark which is 30* from the factory. Then you have 8* each tick on +/-.

Ran the D3 as well as the RevTech Last night. There is something wrong with the Revtech. First two minutes motor is unreal, after two minutes it takes a dump. Loses all of it's torque. I might have gotten a bad motor or something. Not sure, no big deal. Sh*t happens! Trinity offers a great product to the R/C industry.

Thank you for all of the responses!

What is your setup on the motor? Are you trying to run the exact same as the D3?

Try more gear and check the temp. I have a few motors that act EXACTLY like this when I'm beneath the "roll-out" window. It sounds counter-intuitive to gear up when the car runs flat a few minutes in, but I have seen this more than once.

Just looked at my motor.....9 lines and the center thick/long line is no 5. My 0 is on line no 7. Am I running 16* motor timing.?
