I run one of these in spec, and open stock .. it even handles practice with a 19T, and it was only $50.

I use the futaba MC230CR and it works just fine! Don't think the ESC is going to make that big of a difference like the others said it is all about driving skills and tuning your car!

TC3Guru-
Guys please understand $75.00 is the limit for the CLASS not his personal LIMIT.
$75.00 is what the esc has to sell for NEW.

If your wanting the BEST money can buy at $75.00 then try hard to find a Tekin SpeedStar esc.
This esc was very nice and sold for $59.99-69.99 when new.
It will literally handle down to like 10-12 turns.
The "NEW" tekin is not doing this esc so you would have to find one used.
2nd choice would be
Hitec HFX (Has Current Limiting which is VERY cool)
3rd Choice would be
Novak Fusion
4th Choice would be
FMA Direct Typhoon

The TP listed on the 1st answer is a NICE esc for the money but kinda big in size and may not fit.Quite the DEAL for anyone racing R/C with a offroad Truck.

The esc's I listed are all better than the futaba,LRP,Airtronics and Duratrax Listed in this post.Their ON resistance is too high and will loose punch.
