pinions and spur confusion

ok im a little confused and feeling kinda dumb. I have an inferno gt with the brushless conversion, mamba monster 2200kv, and want to know if it is reasonable to go from an 11 tooth mamba monster pinion to a 28 tooth mamba monster pinion? or will that cause binding? Im not use to the whole pinion spur setup, this is my first rc that wasnt a rtr traxxas. Any help would be great thanks, and sorry if this is dumb :(

That is a huge change. Why do you feel the need to change it?

It won't cause binding. It may cause a smoke show when you melt your motor down, and possibly your speedo if it's way over geared.

What spur gear is on it now?

its an 11t or 12t, but i am a spaz, i hooked up 2 2s batteries and it goes significantly faster. I was hoping to se what the top speed was I could get out of it but i think itll be fast enough now, we shall see.

Yeah, typically you just wanna step up a couple of teeth.
Assuming that you're not running hot already.
Then check temps again and go up a little more.
With brushless, over heating is a big deal.
