The black one on the left I bought from Stan in 1986 or 7. the other 2 black pieces are NIB, and 4-5 of the others, including the power supply.

getting a new player. I put Randon in charge of that. I'll ask him what's up.

The matching system is just charge mates and cell mates....along with those resistor boxes, so I got a bunch of them.

I have both dynos, actually a few of the small ones.

My power supply doesn't look like that, but has a lavco sticker on it....so who knows.

I've seen things like this on that "HELP! I'm a Hoarder!" show, except they have garbage and Bob Stormer has good stuff....

We could be really mean and take even more of Bob's time to see if he can produce a certain piece of R/C history at will, like if he has an original Novak external current limiter or something.

that would be a tough one.

I will say this... it's tough to organize. I'm working on it though. All this week I've spent about 3-4 hours a night out there chipping away at it. Then I found my old original TRC pro-10. Never ran it. just used it in our display at the Chicago show in 1986-87? I quit organizing and have been finally completing that car... WAY more fun. took me 3 hours to overhaul a pack of 1200scrs for it. Look good in the car. Now I'm gonna take apart a dialed 360 and overhaul it for the speedo. Case looks like it was in an offroad car for a period of time. Pretty rough. I think I can fix it in 4-5 hours. make it look 90%. It would be how I would have raced it, at that time, as best as I can remember.

And I'm restoring it with my own stuff from back in the day. I think it will mean a lot to me when I'm done. Already putting a smile on my face. and we've brought back 2 different 235mm pan bodys from back in the day, one of them I want to showcase on this chassis. They'll be available in about a week.

Default CEI history

I bought TurboDyno 45 from Stormer Hobbies in 1996 via mail order, still got the invoice in the dyno box

Prior to that I had a charger from CEI named pitbull if I recall the name correctly, then moved to Tekin BC112A but never purchased the turbo30, turbo35 chargers. Right around 2000, I was going to buy a turbo gfx but due to college and family things I stopped racing.

CEI had great products, dyno, matcher, charger, power supply (although rivergate was what I preferred). Tekin went a way then came back, I wish CEI is still around.

A little off topic but....I just talked to CE about the new CDX2 charger. Said it was on the "back-burner" right now and they were going to revisit it in a month or so. I hope they decide to build it. I regret the day I sold my GFX.

Back on topic...Does anyone hold any vintage races?

I follow a few Australian threads. Some of those guys do. And they enjoy it.

I've tried to race some of the old stuff. Plastic, for me, was to fragile, could be any of a number of things, like our climate, or the way I store a car, who knows. Or it simply "is what is". Cars were different back then.

I took a vintage dirt oval car out last fall. based on first gen 10T. I broke that thing six times in the course of 5 hours, arms, castor blocks, knuckles. Charge it, break it, spend an hour scrounging parts, break it again, (repeat). I officially retired it, I was running out of parts. My race buddies nick named it the "Grandpa car"..

I think if you run it brushed, and slow, probably be a lot better off. gonna be expensive to race.

Good to see competition electronics still service/update the GFX. In their retired products page, I saw the charger I had at one point which was the powerPro. Also looks like the company has been doing non-rc products.

Nice to see the TRC Pro-10 mean something to someone else. I still have mine plus 2 spare cars and parts if you need. Chassis, pods, motor plates, beam front end and might still have the plastic I-Beam on a car or in the parts.

Well then, you particularly are gonna dig what I'm doing with my restoration. I'm pretty happy with the progress. And it's a body I don't know if anybody has seen.

That is kinda why I waited until my mid 30s to start racing. I waited for the industry to develop a plastic that could handle my inability to drive.
