Loads of people will tell you to get this one or this one ..................... etc. etc.

Choices in r/c are usually made on a few things Price/Availability and what you assume is best....

I'd say look at futaba,Ko and Airtronic's

I got a Futaba S9550 which i really rate and it's very small but there are lots to choose from

Actually i am looking for something responsive and donno how to determine the specs on each servo (like what does torque do in a steering servo and what does the speec/60 deg affects).

Errrr.....wot do you mean by responsive ?? Do you mean a servo which lighting fast ? RU using it for GP or EP application. For fast GP, Futaba 9551 is a good choice. For EP application on the other hand you're spoilt for choice. KO 2343 and 2123 are excelent choice.

when you look at the specs for speed anything slower than 0.1 secs is gonna be a disadvantage, speed is what determines reaction time. the intial response this helps the car turn faster and also the wheels will center itself faster. (think about powersteering and a non-power steering car)

For torque 6kg and above is ideal for electric cars. torque helps the wheels stay in the direction you want to turn, without torque when your corner the force will be to strong for the wheels to hold the turning angle. so torque is important in steering as well.

for quality and value the futuba s9550 is the best choice.

Hitec offers a wide-range of servos at a budget price. Even their new Karbonite series digital servos with titanium gears, heatsink case are priced so that the average r/c'er can afford them.

Ko 2123, i've had it for 2 years nearly and it's great. Used it outside when it's raining and it's still perfect, metal gears and very quick 0.06 .

Post servos!!

might give a good look at AIRTRONICS !!! Ive been running them for 10 plus years and there great..
But if you can afford to get the higher dollar servo get it .. It will save you down the road ...

You're darn right 'bout the 2123. Super response. One could go for the analog variant of 2123...ie.2015 ....... same response time and same torque too with the 2123....ie 7/8kg ...... I think?. I'm using both the variants....no problems so far.

but if its too too too fast your car could spin out easily i reakon! some people have to turn down the steering exponential/steering punch on the radio to counter this awkard cornering characteristics.

i reakon 75% of the pro electric drivers use the futuba s9550.
specs are for this is
0.11 secs
6kg torque
at 6 volts

try putting on a poll to help your decision as i can imagine it would be hard for 10 different people voicing 10 different opinions on which servo is the best for your application.

I am kinda new to this thus i have not much insight of what servos are available. Anyway any recommendation is highly appreciated nevertheless.

Oh something just came to my mind.
Anyone tried doing 4wd steering with their r/c cars? How are the configurations like?
