But i am trying some different things with my IB4200s.

Like on the SMC website they say to charge 4cell with a 5mv cut off per cell 20mv in total (0.02v delta peak) and for some reason i can't set the charger to 0.02, it either goes 0.00, then jumps to 0.03v, can anyone see if their cellmaster does this? as it is quite annoying
you have to set it at 0.05 because its rated per cell

Hi there matt,

To get a 20mv cut off set it to 20. your trying to set it to 2mv which is 0.002 but you want 0.02 which is 20 mv. The mv settings on the cell master are for the entire pack.

yeah i try to set it to 0.02 but it doesn't like it, it either goes 0.00 then straight to 0.03.

you say it is the Mv setting for the entire pack (which i thought) and the dude above you said that the cell master displays it per cell.

Time to dig up the manual. Cheers for the help anyway

The cell master displays the delta peak setting per the total number of cells. If you want a 5mV delta peak per cell, multiply that by how ever many cells you have, 20mV total for a 4 cell pack and 30mV for a 6 cell pack. Hope this clears things up for you.

Much more charger output plug is for 12v fans.
If you're going to use your own 40mm fans i suggest getting thick ones. the thin ones move hardly any air

great! thanks! planning to use a couple of 80mm fans that i have. they're currently running off the PS, but was thinking my pit area would be cleaner if it were attached to the CTX. btw, does anyone know where i can get the connector that mates with the side output?

as i recall its a molex connector.
one thing that you must remember is that the output port on the ctx is temperature controlled. you must first set the option to fan (not battery warmer), and then whenever the temperature exceeds the fan temp you set for whatever profile you are in, the fans will kick on.

If you still need the plug PM me and i can find the molex part number. you should be able to order it as samples from molex, so you would get it for free

This means that there is some kind of problem with the power supply, and that the charger is being powered by the battery it was charging.

great! thanks! called a local electronics supplier and they have the part (2-pin male/female). cost is very minimal so i guess i'll just get a few sets from them. many many thanks for the lead.

on an added note, reading through some of the other battery charging threads here, it seems that its not a good idea to run fans while charging my batts. i live in a hot, humid and tropical country so afternoons can get pretty nasty especially during the summer. would it still be a good idea to run fans while charging my IB4200s? Says it increases internal resistance of the bats. I'm currently set at 6A @ 6mV delta. Or should i run the fan blowing away from the battery instead?

Thanks!
