NO, that's not the only difference. Because it costs more, it charges the batteries better. At least that's what i told the wife!

Default Muchmore Battery Cooler

I'm considering to buy the Muchmore battery heatsink/cooler but before I do, tell me, is it worth the cost and trouble to have one? Would I get a better charge with my battery's temp being controlled by the cooler? Please help.

Heres the link if you don't know what I'm talking about.

From my experience I would say it depends on the temperature you have in the room/air when you charge. If it it is hot, 30 degrees celcius or more it may be useful... If you have 20-25 degrees celcius I would say no need to cool the batteries when charging, you want to batteries to have a certain temparature at the end of the charge (~46 to 48 degrees celcius at end of charge, please note that temp will still increase a bit after charge is finished normally...)

Any other opinions?

Hey Guys
I recently bought the MMR CTX C Andy Moore edititon, along with the Battery heatsink II, I was wondering what is a good temp to have the heatsink kick in at, I know you shouldnt let them get too hot, and they take a better charge at certain heat. I mostly have IB 4200 cells, also some charging setups would help, I have been using the Peak Charge 1, setting the cells at 4600, 5a, and the delta peak at 03. And some info on what the Long Lockout means and how to use it would be great.

this is what i use for IB4200 WC:

5000
5, 5.5, or 6A charging
3mV cutoff
40deg fan on (note: i live in a hot, humid tropical country. you may not need to use the fan in your area)
50deg temp cutoff
30min long lockout

you set the long lockout to make sure the charger doesn't stop when you false peak (usually happens early during charging especially if you brought your cells down very low during discharge/equalizing). to engage the lockout, press the right key (>) long untill a key icon appears instead of the mV cutoff. engaging the long lockout will make the charger continue charging even if the pack voltage drops below what you set. Temp cutoff will still be active though. after the lockout duriation is done, you mV cutoff will then be active again.

Thanks, I think I had the long lockout too low and faulse peaked the first time using the CTXC, I also have the Andy Moore CTXD2 and I pulse discharge them to .9 which is what the batts say to do

would suggest equalizing with the 5A discharge mode down to .9V (after pulse discharge) before charging as well.
