should i put the packs in a tray and get to around 100 degrees and then charge them???
pack was barely warm when coming off the charger but the #'s were way better getting a voltage reading of like 9.1 9.2
I'm charging at 7 amps with 30mv cutoff, at 5000. My temp at the end of peak charge is right around 42 celcius with my temp set at 48. During the outdoor season I will have to change this but in the indoors this makes the packs good and warm but not too hot.

Post Temp Probe

I've noticed on the Mark R. & Andy M. editions come with magnetic temp probe.

Has anyone found a way (modify/change) to make the temp probe also magnetic on the standard version?

Thanks for anyone who can answer the question.

All CTX's come with magnet, only the first bacth didn't have.

I have seen someone that did what you ask for but can't recall where!

if you could get the magnet from an old ladies purse or bag it should work fine. just shrink tube it on the probe.

I think I have the 1st batch then.

If I use the magnet from the ads you can stick to the freezer's door, would that work? (Peel the thin magnet & stick or shrinkwrap it the flat portion of the probe)

The little ones at radio shack are not strong enough either I could not get the little .125" round ones to work at least. The little round ones are not big enough size wise to have the magnetic strength (already tried that!) . I have some magnets that work great for sale. PM me if you are interested.

Did not think of using both of them. (thump head) That might work! One did not get the job done. They come two to a pack. It is those little out of the box thoughts that get you some time. I went out and got some .125X.125X.25 rare earth magnets the work awesome. They are about 2X as thick as the one that MUCH MORE in now including with the chargers.

Lol thanks, I was looking at them trying to justify the price jump. Not worth it IMHO. Each to their own.
