There are several good ESCs available with a drag (auto) brake feature, but my favorite is the Novak Cyclone. With the optional Pit Wizard you can adjust both the frequency (less/more aggressive) and initial amount of braking applied. Other brands have drag brakes, but they may not be as adjustable. Later!

The LRP Quantum Comp 2 has "automatic brake"; but, I leave mine at a "0" value of the six option settings, being 0-5.

Instead, I dial in any needed drag brake using that function on my radio. It's something that I dial in during practice according to the track conditions.

FYI...As I have become more proficient with my driving, I find that I am using less and less drag brake.

I don't think that automatic brake is a 'reversing function'. I assume that it is more a motor 'shorting function'.

Bill,

Which radio you are using? and what is the parameter called that you set in your radio to tune drag brake?

You can make adjustments on most radios that will give a similar feel, but most ESCs manufacturers say it isn't as effective or as fine tuned as making adjustments on an ESC. It's basically adding negative throttle exponential.

I use the JR Racing XS3 75 MHz synthesized radio. Use Grip Lever A to adjust Brake End-Point Adjustment which ends up being a drag brake. I am usually in the 15-30% value range depending on the situation.
