The warm up race is not really a good indication of really anything other then the teams getting familar with the layout, facility, and the teams formulating a good worlds strategy. If hagberg is not on pace then Team Xray has a slim chance of being a factor to be honest. I hope Paul does well, but I am concerned about how much track time he gets on big outdoor asphalt tracks compared to the europeans. I am very Excited to see what happens at worlds this year...

Now its not quite that but the weather conditions didnt look all that different but I know a few weeks back Paul ran at a rather big outdoor track. Now its not quite that track for the worlds but its def pretty big.

has anybody had problems getting enough slack out of the gear diff in the rear. I measured the gear diff 1.402" and the ball diff 1.385" on the teeth. so the problem I have been having is the rear belt being too tight with the gear diff and not being able to be happy about the tention on the belt even with the bearing holder notch being all the way back. which negates the effects of the diff high vs low which effects the handling condition that I was looking for. and it's not a new belt so I can only imagine how bad it would be if I had a new belt.

just wondering if anybody else had this issue.

i wouldnt be too worried about how much Paul races on larger tracks. he also races 8th scale gas, and is very fast.

Paulie takes all 3 mains at pre-worlds. Now, just do that again in a few months.

We'll see how it goes when there's more grip/steering and I can smooth things out.

They do seem to improve grip mid-corner.
I tend to run HPI Silver front and rear on alot of outdoor tracks, and wonder whether progressive 2.4-2.8 might not be better suited to stock classes.
(I have oreder some 2.2-2.6's to test with)

I've had someone ask me if the Xray 007 bodypost are in the same position as the T3 series of cars, can anyone answer this so I can pass the info on....

Reason being they are wondering if they can use a bodyshell cutout for a T3 12 on a T2 007

Cheers

Has anyone tried putting their lipo in the chassis with the 4mm connectors at the front instead of the back?

I tried it this weekend at a meeting and seemed to have more aggressive turn in with the connectors at the front of the car and it smoothed things out when the connectors were at the back.

I weighed my Thunder Power lipo on some scales (just putting one end on the scales) and noticed that the connector end is around 10g lighter.

Just wondering is anyone else has tried this?

You are correct the connector end is lighter, the 2 cells in the hard case are further back from the connectors thus making that end heavier. By having the connectors at the front of the car you are putting more weight over the rear so more weight transfer to the front under braking / cornering.

You're right, my packs have always been heavier at the end opposite the plugs. I've also found that a little more weight rearward (plugs up front) gives me a slight edge in the steering. I've tried it both ways and prefer the connectors at the rear, forward weight calms the car for me. It's a very slight differrence but you can feel it, not likely worth anything on the clock. JMO

Mine are on the way, I'm a little excited! The Smokem guys were very easy to deal with. Never had their chassis before but I hear it's good stuff.
