I am headed out with my son for his first day with the t3 12, and yes I will be getting in my fair share of laps also.

Below is a pic of his 3 generations of xrays

Default 17.5 Blinky gearing

Hi,

I run the xray t3 12 mainly on mid sized carpet tracks. Ive always run 13.5 boosted and am now switching over to 17.5 blinky. Roughly how many teeth in pinions do i need to go up by in comparison, any ideas?

Aim for a 4.0 FDR to start, depending on your track size, you may need to go lower. (I typically have a 92/44)

No shims. There's some from the servo saver to the steering link, but the servo itself is not shimmed. I do use the rubber grommets on all the ears though, to help prevent tweak. Allows for a little bit of flex.

Buy the one piece suspension mount for the front of the rear.

Yes... You will loose a little rear grip I've been told.

+1, I have had a t3r, t3 2011 and now t3 2012, and all have had different toe left to right.
I find 1.75mm of shims on the left, and 1.5mm shims on the right gives equal toe in of 3 degrees. Not sure why.
Using the one peice holder at the front of the rear will reduce rear flex and traction
