SERPENT S411 FWD

SERPENT S411 FWD
I just saw the report on Red Rc on this chassis. Looks like it borrows a lot of the parts from the S411 chassis.

I know in Asia that the FWD classes are pretty large - locally, quite a few people jumped on the FWD band wagon with the FF03, however, I don't think the build quality can compare to the S411 FWD. It'll be interesting to see one in person to see how it stands up to the rest of the "race" FWD's on the market.

BTW - looking at the pictures shows a different steering rack... could there be a tuning option on the horizon for the S411?

Given that the only time you ever see a FWD class is in Tamiyaland, the answer is NO.
Also if the price for one of these is gonna be in the $450plus range, chances are the potential for these showing up on a local FWD class are slim as well.
However, its nice to see Serpent come out with so much new product lines latetly. Hope they price it right so that it doesn't wind up sitting on the store shelf forever.

We run a FWD class locally and it is gaining some momentum. Right now all you see are TOP Sabres and FF03s, the Sabre has been dominating but the FF03s are catching up since they have gearing options that the Sabre does not. It's a really fun class to drive and has even made converts out of some expert drivers due to the close races we have with these cars.
There's no way a full aluminum and carbon fiber kit like the Sabre or the Serpent can compete price-wise with a plastic tub car. On the othere hand, if you buy all the Tamiya options for the FF03 the price gets a lot closer

Here in Ottawa, our club runs four classes. These are GT1, GT2, Mini and F-1. The club rules are loosely based on the Canadian TCS rules with some exceptions as noted below plus we allow virtually any chassis not limiting ourselves to Tamiya.
GT1 (17.5 with boost)
GT2 (Blackcan motor or 17.5 no boost)
Mini. (TCS rules apply with exception to battery. Any low C lipo battery will be allowed for club races)
F1 (Rules same as Mini.)
You'll note that we don't have a dedicated FF-03 class but instead run these cars run in the GT2 class with the black can or non boosted 17.5.
At the last club race, I used my FF-03 Pro with the SP Citrix Club Stock 17.5 motor and ESC combo to qualify third. My car was competitive and with a better driver could have done even better.
The Serpent 411 FWD looks great and I'd run one in a heart beat. The single gear diff makes maintenance almost a thing of the past and the car would be basically bullet proof. I see no reason not to run a FWD car in with the 4wd crowd.

I don't race much but mess around a lot. The Serpent car looks great and I would get one if the price wasn't so high. I play around a little with my Sabre. The only options it has is a gear diff, aluminum steering, and aluminum battery holder. Other than that, it's a pretty nice smooth chassis~! Corners great~!

how are these cars on the front tires? (my sons vw GTI eats rubber) just curious on an R/C FF car how it would be.
the 411 FF looks very interesting, all the new choices out and this one screams attention.
the front gearing on it looks strong, being open to debris how well would it hold up?
could be my first FF.

Tim would the top plate from the S411FF fit a standard S411? Is there any noticable difference between the the two top decks?
Thanks
