Definately looks interesting the thinner chassis, I might consider getting it when I start running asphalt.

Agree their stuff looks great, but what surfaces have they tested on etc?

I worry that they've spent most of their time trying to make it look good!

yeah but i would probably try the full chassis first to be on the safe side...and its easier to install the electronics...

XRAY say the chassis has been developed for low traction, meaning it should generate more traction. They also say it will give more cornerspeed on super high traction tracks.

I know the team have been using the 2mm chassis recently on high traction carpet. (ETS and DHI etc.)

I'm trying to understand this. The chassis was developed for low traction, meaning it will allow traction on low traction tracks. But then says it will give more corner speed on high traction tracks. My understanding is if it gives traction on low traction tracks then you will have even more traction on high traction tracks. Which would result in traction rolling. Is it me or did I miss something?

I would have thought that the greater flex would cause problems on high bite carpet

Have the drivers done anything else to their setups to compensate for the thinner chassis, or just run their usual setups but with the new chassis/topdeck?

I will probably get one of the top decks for my wet car anyway.

I would think that it would enable you to run slightly thicker oils/ harder springs to keep the corner speed up on high bite.

So after months of testing the new chassis, two months after release they release exactly the same one but thinner saying it increases traction and corner speed!

Is this hudy's way of making more money or an admition they got there release wrong?

All I know is, I was faster with my home modded '11 than i am with the '12! I know not many people will admit it, but the '12 was not the step forward that many were hoping for!

I think you should see the chassis is another tuning aid, the standard chassis will work in most conditions. If you look at all the other manufacturers cars they all have different chassis options for tuning.

The thing that separates XRAY from the rest is that they release the parts which the team test at the big races within a much shorter time frame. The 2012 car was what the team were running at the time of release. They have continued to test new parts and develop the car since.

Would you rather they kept these parts under wraps like most other manufacturers??

In my opinion the 2012 car was a big step forward. Since running mine I have gone from squeezing into the A main at the UK Ardent winter series to being on the podium alongside Elliot Harper and Andy Moore.

not only was it 2 tenths faster ,

it helped me be more consistent, I'm loving the rear grip that the 11 didnt have.

I don't have a problem with an optional tuning chassis. The problem is, is it for low traction tracks or is it for more cornering speed on high traction tracks? It doesn't make sense. What was it designed for low traction or high traction tracks? One or the other. Until i know what it really is for I can't even consider it. Just my .02 cents
