I thought I read a short while ago that the Corally motor wasn't made to the same specs as other 17.5 motors? I know it's not on the ROAR approved list. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Default XRAY t3 12 GEAR DIFF OIL

Ive been running the kit 750 cst oil so far. Im racing 13.5 on carpet at the moment. Im wondering what every one else is using. So far the car has been hard to drive consistantly.

model tech in the uk import them and the owner mike smith is a very knowledgable chap.

I have been running the 21.5 and 17.5 pro red all year and nothing can compete against them if your track will allow them.

They're definitely not on the ROAR approved list http://www.roarracing.org/?page_id=251

If your club allows you, then nothing can touch a pro red, they sound like a bag of nails in a tumble drier but they are fast and they stay cool.

Are there any after market battery retainer fittings on the market? The stock setup allows too much battery movement. Wish they had a slotted fitting in the middle rather than the plastic nuts which do almost nothing.

Use a nut with a larger dia.

The wing mounting nuts they use are probably the most half-assed designed part of the car. Battery position really should be adjustable for balance and to fit different sizes. My current batteries fit perfectly, but I could see it being a pain, with my old smaller batteries, to retain them properly while also balancing the car with minimum added weight and not making it look too ugly.

ya the corally from what ive been told come with bigger/stronger rotor magnets soo it has an advantage over regular 17.5 sooo that being said if your club allows it go for it and if they dont its because its not fair to race that motor against a bunch of motors that are slower.

I have almost no side to side play with the battery, just front to back.

the xray alum battery holders dont bend like the composite, and then you can just add some foam servo tape between the holder and lipo to eliminate the play front to back.
