I'm a rookie in mod and have run a 5.0 and 6.5 with boost on carpet and asphalt and have had zero issues despite tumbles and plenty of "learning" experiences.

The rear belt is the weak link, not the planetary gears.

So I notice the 2012 thread is 4pages back as I get me one .....
Picked it up used, its a kit roller. So for high bite carpet racing what's the most used "need to have " parts /spairs?
Been running top photon for 3+yrs and it was time for a change ... going to be running tc
Springs needed?
Oil /piston range.
Floating servo mount??
R the ecs's worth it?
Camber blocks options necessary?
Ackerman pivot balls all the same?
What size shims go under inner hinge pin mounts (o.d.)?
Thanks guys

The ECS's are nice but they do get damged over time and will be more expensive to repair.

Here's a couple of setups from the UK;

More open track on Sorex 32's
http://piez0r.com/Skiddins/Xray%20Se...en-19-2-12.pdf

Tighter layout on Sorex 28's
http://piez0r.com/Skiddins/Xray%20Se...29-21-9-12.pdf

Most of the carpet setups are pretty similar between drivers.

The shims for the pivot blocks have an outside diameter of 7.5mm

The Xray springs are normally enough, 2.8 & 2.6 are good for carpet.

Virtually the standard pistons are 3 hole 1.1mm

There were 1 or 2 in the official release. Can't be an x-ray without at least a little optim-I-zation.
