No you don't. Just add washers inboard and you can go to a 1 degree rear hub carrier also. I run 4 degrees of toe!

You will be able to adjust inboard toe with included shims! If you you want to add outboard toe you will have to buy those. The car is not like the Tamiya with different suspension blocks to purchase.

I just picked up a 2011 xray t3, are the 2012 parts (that were improved) able to be put on a 2011 model? Would it be worth doing for sportsman(N.T.) 17.5?

Yes, they are more chassis tuning oriented parts, so yes worth the performance, but the stock 11 is a pretty good car too. I'd run the car out of box.

Roll center clamps and gear diff drop in the 2011! To install the servo east west you could just shoe goo it in! You should be just fine with what you already have.

The 2011 is an awesome car. The 12 is the 11 with a couple of options the 11 didn't have. You can buy the option parts for you 11 and you will almost be there. Enjoy! I got my 11 about 8 months ago and love it.

yes and no

The biggest improovement will be the gear diffs. All parts from the 12 can be retro fitted to the 11.

There are quite a few changes. Infact loads. I'd say it's a different car.

I have both the 11 and 12. And although they are both black and orange I have a real good feeling about the 12. My 11 handled real well but I think the 12 is going to be even better.

You are right it is a different car. However, for someone that just got an 11, They will be just fine with what they have. I myself have a 12 ordered. Do I think it it is going to be Tamiya? No, it is gonna be an 11with a few mods. Personally, I think it is cheaper to buy a new car after a full season rather than replacing all of the worn parts. That is the reason why I am getting the 12.

The 311 had 3deg of rear toe by default. 1deg is built into the bulk head and 2deg is shimed inboard with 0deg out board. You might find that as the hinge pin is bent because of the shims the rear suspension becomes less free. A popular mod is to change to 1deg out board hubs and drop the shims down to 1deg.

I assume all this will still apply to the 312.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback. I knew I made a good decision on the purchase. It will be my first tc. I got it for CHEAP and I figure if I need a few "12" parts it should work good enough and stay within a reasonable budget. I will post on the 2011 thread from here on out unless I have questions about 2012 part compatability. Good to know there's helpful peeps on the tc threads.

Ah but the 11 is only a T3 and the T3 a 009! Its evolution and I applaud Xray for it.
Don't get me wrong I had Yokomo before Xray and that car never changed for years.
If you have bought an 11 be happy its a great kit and will do you well.
