Are you happy with the way it handles? If are then dont worry about it and just replace them,when they get to small.
This is sort of a personal question but how serious are you with the car?
Just haveing fun or are you trying to race people with it,and if you are what you going for? TCS or serious 1/12th. It has to do with the carbon chassis question.
I am in the middle,so I like to go fast but I will not sink a lot of money into this chassis to keep up with the other much faster guys using serious 1/12th cars. A Carbon chassis will make it stiffer and a little lighter.Your adjustments will have more effect on the chassis instead of the chassis doing the suspension work for you. That sounds good untill you see the price of the Tech or the Tamiya piece,you can easliy spend more money on this car just to have it still not be up to the more serious cars.
One cheap thing you can try to stiffen upi the front is a brace across the front suspension arms. If your is stock you can just bend the chassis,make a tie rod that goes from the top of the uprights,you can see if you like it. It will change the feel of the chassis. If you dont like it just take it off,it takes about 10 minutes to make and you most likely have parts laying around to make one up in your junk box.
I run over a 11 hour day,when the track has low grip I run without the brace,when the grip of the circuit goes up i need the front end to be stiffer,pop on the brace and away i go.NO springs to play with and no serious tires to change.

Ok, parts have been ordered and have arrived. I thought that I had the right size bearings that would work for this application, but I don't.

Can't use the stock bearings as there are 2 different sizes and then there is the step up on the shaft for the bigger of the 2 stock bearings.

Redbull, Can you provide me with the sizes of the bearings that you used? Any other tips and advice here would be greatly appreciated. I am so close to having this conversion done, I think.

qty (1) 1/4 X 3/8 Unflanged bearing, 1/8" diff balls
That's the only bearings not supplied in the kit, in order to use a standard spur gear

I wore out my kit front tires almost down to the rim in one race day
Try the Op fronts, they last a little longer. There should be option parts coming out so you can use standard fronts soon.

The CF chassis might make the car twitchy. If you like how the car handles now, maybe you should just stick to the CF rear pod.

Also, what wt oil you guys use for the alum dampers? Mine feels a bit soft (30wt) compared to the friction damper w/AW grease.

Thanks for the feedback guys on the front tyres and carbon fibre chassis. I'll try the option fronts next.

The body in the pic with the TRF RM-01 looks like the Porsche 956 body.
Looks like I'll be buying a TRF version now too!

I've installed a brace on the front suspension, that was done with a turnbuckle and ball studs.
My guess is that it also gives you the benefit of adjusting the front camber angle aswell (not by that much degrees but just enough for a better or less steering incase it's needed) and a more consistent feeling in steering respons.
I think the front suspension is way to soft and the rear screws without the locknut don't have enough strenght to keep it in place.
So i used some larger screws (in lenght) and that seems to give more strenght to the front suspension.
Will be testing it next thursday evening.
