Hi Guys, I am eventually getting around to racing the RM01X. I need to swap out to a 76t 64dp spur. Are there any that fit? or will I need to get different diff balls (3.1mm) and ream out the spur to fit on the axle.
Thanks

Cheers for the pointer, but that is just to run Tamiya spurs. It seems they do not go small enough for me (I need 76t 64dp)

However you might struggle to get a 76T to fit regardless - the diff plates etc on the RM are quite large compared to other 1/12 cars. I would be trying to find one that is "flat" or thin.

As CSeils said the adapter allows the use of pretty much all the common spur brands available.

Cheers guys. Do other brand spurs use 3mm balls? Or will I need to order some with the axon spur etc?

Another question. I want to run trued down tyres. Will the hop up f104 option parts work to lower the axle (3mm , 3.5mm)

Cool, but I assume the exotek ones will be ok?
My biggest issue is the front end. I have the option axles to fit the other wheels but I only have a little amount of ride height to play with on the stock front end when I trie the tyres down.
I know people file them down but I don't have the skills to do a good job of that they will not be even or true

I personally haven't seen the exotek ones but it shouldn't matter the brand (though Tuning Haus do make lightweight ones) - the important bit is the filing away the bottom of where the eccentric mounts (where the little screw hole is) in the pod to get the axle to clear.
You can file down the Tamiya uprights...you can see the little stepped bits on them... and sure fire way of keeping them true is to take a piece of sand paper and punch a 3mm hole in it then use something flat - I actually used an old piece of chassis I had laying about but you can use a current one as its unlikely to get damaged (if you are careful) - use a long 3M screw and a lock nut with a washer to hold it all together and then spin the upright around on the sandpaper... you can use lock nut to keep the pressure even... takes a bit of effort but you will gain about 2mm of ride height adjustment... If you are feeling brave you can slice the step off first with a knife as the screw through the upright will keep everything square as long as you don't start out with the nut too tight. If you can find a screw that is only partly threaded it will be better as well.
You still won't be able to use super small tyres but it does let you do better than standard

Great stuff, Thanks for the tip about the front end when you refer to the upright are you talking about the arms or the actual upright that holds the axles.

In some circumstances you might need to grind a little off the top but I can't remember why now - low ride height with big tyres I think is why I did it
