Tamiya 1/12 R/C RM-01 "Racing Master"

I still don't see how a 1s lipo will fit?

The lifepo4 or the A123 18650 cell is ~70 mm. A 1s lipo around 93 mm. So you need 11.5 mm more on each side. Looking at the pictures it might just work but it is indeed quite narrow.
I ordered 2 18650 cells just to play with.
EDIT:
Looking at this picture it will easily fit

Ah sorry, do you mean don't put the battery holders on the chassis, then use glass fibre tape instead to old the lipo in (I guess you mean the little slot shapes at the battery ends)?

I'm glad to see a silver can in the rear pod. A standard 540 sized BL motor should fit without any issues. I agree that the chassis appears to be slotted to strap down a 1s LiPO pack. I can't tell from the pictures what is being used for the side dampening. Shock?? Tubes?? Nothing!?!?
Does it appear that they are also using a standard sized servo? The biggest issue I see so far is the rear hubs. Hopefully, they'll release an option rear hub to accept standard 12th wheels. Alternative solution could also be to use a rear axle assembly from another car. Having to run Tamiya's rear wheels/tires will be a deal breaker for me.

Parts on the left show the option for standard 1/12 U.S. wheel design

Its not an option, its standard. The hubs for the three bolt is there to begin with. Tamiya just adds an adapter on top of that to mount their proprietary hex pattern wheels a la F103GT. However, that hex is smaller than the Mini hex pattern. I'm hoping for the Mini wheel adapters to come out soon after the release of the car.

That is great news to see another "vintage" Tamiya rereleased although I would rather see the CanAm Lola rereleased.
