my HMX v2 has the alloy shocktowers and the ball differential, i talked/emailed with Corally and the gear diff is still a few weeks away.

i have a asso tc6.1 FTK with gear diff but just dont feel right about seeing if that fits the HMX besides the 6.1 ftk is gonna get sold soon anyway

the pics are here (add www remove the space ://iowacaptain.multiply.com/photos/album/12/Corally_HMX)

lets hope this doesnt get me in trouble ..

nice to see some improvements! only waiting for the geardiff is long... Do you know how many teeth the puly has of the tc6.1? maybe it fits? The Corally balldiff has a 36teeth pully.

Default Corally HMX V2

- which bodyposts with holes in 'em like all the other cars. So not the threaded ones.

- still no carbon shock towers in the kit? Why the hell is that?

- what are the exact differences between the V1 and the V2?

- Is this shit solved:"I canīt get enough steering throw with Corally parts, the steering knuckles hit the swaybar ball cup. You can dremel the knuckles and ball cup but I donīt think you can get same amount of steering throw as with Tamiya parts. If you are using Corally parts use the 4 degree alu caster block, itīs thinner than the 3 degree plastic = more throw".

- and how about this:"The car looks good, but I wish they would have gone the same direction as the other touring car top deck designs. Also you still can not adjust the belt tension with the diff bearing holders like you can on all other cars."

- How about the many complaints about the length of the shocks. Not enough droop possible, shocks too short.
Screwing the ball end of the shock not as far on the shockshaft as it should be.

- ball ends of the shocks too short!

- still no anti-roll-bars in the kit? Bummer..

- placement of the servo still wrong. Longitudinal isn't the way to go!

Yo guys,
Sold my TC6. I am leaning towards the T3'12.
So knowing all of the above. Could someone please explain to me why the hell I should buy me a Corally HMX V2 instead of a T3'12?
I really don't understand!

Why such a post like this if you already decided what brand you want to drive... you are already saying "is this shit" ..
It is stil modelracing, and that means sometimes making some adjustments yourself. I notice that you are posting in a lot of other brands topics too. like the awesomatix for example.
In the V2 there are still alu shocktowers. The carbon shocktowers are optional and that will still be! Also the anti rollbars are an option. I use tamiya bodyposts. That cant be some real problem! and shocks.. I use trf ones, but that uses most of the drivers.
And yes, the belt tension is still the same as in the phi'09 but that isn't realy a problem. The belts feel right out of the box.
I have sanded some of my plastic c-hubs so the steering is just like the tamiya cars or some other brands.
And who says the placement of the servo is wrong? I think that it just have to do something with the rest of the steering system. There is enough space for the ESC etc.!

No not tested it yet. Here we don't have a 17.5 class. Is it boosted or not?

No we don`t run boosted class. One guy has a HMX here and said he had to heavaly modify it to get the gearing for stock. Hope this not the case.

I think that depends if you are having an fdr or not. Here we run stock with an fdr wich depends on the tracksize we drive. I run 48dp gears and I don't have a problem when I run an 32pinion with 75 spurgear and than my fdr is 4.01

I didn't have to modify anything. I run a 64 pitch 87t spur and around a 40 pinion depending on track size.

Default gearing

i got a 78 and a 84 spurr in 64 dp (the machined ones not the molded ones) and most gears up to 40 teeth so it shouldnt be a problem aslong as you use long spur gears.
you can flip the layshaft around and use short gears however.

both of mine have 15's in them right now as i use the corally BMS sysyems in both, i do have a kinetic/ballistic set but dont want to use them unless i cant get 17.5's from Corally (and they do sell them)

seems they run 21.5's and 17.5's here so gues i will have to make a few changes or order motors.

How did it go in Poland? Had you mounted the 2.4mm chassis kit?
