Default Hmx

So they haven't released a car since 09 and now I need to buy the Hmx kit and put a Tamiya suspension on it then find a 07 shock tower and so on to make it competitive? No thanks!

Or wait for the second batch of cars. there is coming a geardiff. and why wouldn't you try the alloy shocktowers? those are good also. maybe there are coming some changes too.

Guys , It doesnt matter what chassis you buy , new cars always need some tweeking , work to make them competitive.

I bought the Kyosho TF6 last year on recomendation from a good friend that i trust , i hated it in its original state , bought the Lipo chassis and top deck , this transformed the car into the fastest car i have ever driven , i love my car now BUT it has cost a fortune to get right

We choose our chassis on what looks nice and what we think suites us , I think this car looks odd , BUT this doesnt make it bad , i look forward to racing against them next year , there is one at my club now

Just my 2 cents worth ,Merry Christmas everyone

Took my Assassin out last week, I am thinking that the drive train might suit low power classes (21.5). I was pleasantly surprised at how well it drove. Right off the shelf with x years old tyres.

Meanwhile I await the arrival of my HMX, not being a top driver, and also not wanting the same as everyone else, I'm sure it will do me well. I am still running a PHI '07, so I've missed a generation. Nice that the spare shock towers, and the alloy "C" hubs, may be useful .

Merry Xmas all
Peter

I'm not a top driver either, I consider myself as an excelent club racer that have won a few season championships at my local track with older Phi '07 back a few years ago. I took a small brake from RC and I'm back this year with my old Phi '07 and was still able to kick some Tamiya, Serpent and Xray's butt on rubber tire.
I just got my HMX and ''damn'' I love it. Already faster than my Phi '07. Great chassis flex, two Tamiya gear diffs installed to it, all Corally suspension components, stock Aluminium shock towers......We have a tight bumpy carpet track and I managed to get a lot of traction and steering so far. I did work on the car to make it fast but sure did not spent 200$. Two Tamiya diffs cost 55$. I bought the inner camber link bracket and I'm not using them so far.

I would not change my HMX for anything else, I am a Corally guy for ever!
It is a great new car, just give it some time and it will be a reference!
Brad Johnson is already showing a lot of people in USA how fast it can be, Team Drivers in Europe are already winning races with.......

Here is a few pictures of the car with a CF shock tower installed in the back.
I'm using Aluminium ones but I have a lot of spare shock tower from my two Phi '07, but I did it only to show you guys. Part number 79741 regular rear shock tower on the car, part number 79740 lowered rear shock tower if you need more suspension downstop adjustement. Aluminium shock tower is seating right next to CF shock tower just to show the gain you could get in shock angle. Almost two holes. You will need longer ballstud on the wishbones. Yes, the CF tower will hold the sway bar mount extremly well into place.
I also posted a picture of my ride, which I'm extremely proud of.

the rear shock angle looks really really wrong with the carbon shock tower fitted , front to rear i mean , if i alter my angle 1mm it becomes a totally differant animal
