Puffed or swollen lipo. Safe?

Ive bought a second hand 60c lipo from a guy through a well known auction site and its arrived with both cells obviously puffed or swollen, which ever you prefer. Its that bad that it wont sit flat in the chassis. Hes telling me its normal and quite safe. What do those that know think of using the battery in this condition and is it safe to use?

Not safe to use and not something that would get near my car...

I think it's a load of B.S. Tell the guy you are not satisfied with what you got. Return it, and get your money back..... He may run junk, doesn't mean you should have to.

same here i wudnt use it ...

I have seen many lipos like that work just fine, that said I would return it no reason to pay your hard earned money for something less than correct.

A couple of my hard case liposuction got swollen after leaving them in the car during a warm day. They still work fine, and the swelling wasn't permanent; but it's def not normal. Especially of you paid for them and they came
In that condition. No good.

Okay. Thankyou all.

I haven't switched to LiPos yet so I wouldn't know, but how can you tell if something like that happens to the LiPo if it has a hard case around it?

scoop 09-09-2011 11:12 AM

Because they push the case out of shape. This one is top and bottom, so what sort of pressure is going on inside:eek:

Obviously he doesn't.... he sells it once it becomes just that.

Demand a refund, sounds like a load of BS to me, even if they are "Ok"....
