Default Best batteries for $60 a pack

Hi guys i am in the market for some new batteries. I want to spend around $60 a pack. What would be my best options. I have had SMC's and Fukuayama in the past.

I was extremly impressed with the SMC's but Fukuayama were not as good so they are not really an option.

Would the SMC's you can get from stormers for around that price be OK for a club racer?

Cheers

What was wrong with your Fukuyama's?? I have had SMC and they were great but the Fukuyamas are AWESOME.

But if you wanted to try someone else, you can try surge, orion, peak, novak, etc. I just dont understand how you were disappointed in Fukuyamas. Just my opinion.

I agree...I am surprised that he found the fukuyamas to be a bad choice. I have tried a few different brands and matchers. I raced last friday with three different packs with good results, but there was clearly a better pack of the three. For qualifying I used fukuyama, and TQed. Impressive punch...no dump! For the next round I used orion vmaxx sanyo 3600s, was not overly impressed, but I got 2nd. They (3600s) just didn't feel as alive as the fukus, and they have been used for the same length of time, and trayed using a novak smart tray. Lastly I used the Trinity VIS evo3 3300s....these were very good, definately comparable to the fukus, but I think the fukus were a little better for two reasons.
The fukus were cheaper, which is a pretty good reason. My last and final reason is a little more trivial to some but important to me. Fukuyama Racing is located a few exits down the freeway from me. In a sense they are a local business, and they probably don't make as much as a company like team trinity. I much rather support their local product, and help them make a name for themselves in an industry that is saturated with so much competition.
I would reccomend trying the trinity batteries if you did not like the fukuyamas, but maybe this was just a fluke, or some sort of assembly problem. Give fukuyama a call and complain so that they can work this out and see what went wrong.

I know this opinion is totally subjective so take it with a grain of salt because we all have our personal favorites for whatever reason.
Good luck with your shopping!

I bought 3 packs of SMC's and 3 Packs of the Fuku's at the same time. I consitently got better times with the SMC packs. The SMC packs had more punch out of the corners.

The Problem I see getting batteries through a MAILORDER place is you cant talk to the matcher or see the #'s.
If I were to buy SMC's(Great Packs) I would buy them out of a counter where I could see the #'s.

Kinetix Batteries are very nice and run good as well.
Surge,Fusion and lots others.
I would really try to buy locally or order straight from a battery matcher.

Goodluck with your purchase

P.S.$60.00 a pack from ANY matcher pretty much will be MORE than good enough for club racing.

60 bucks for a pack of Kinetix's will be good enough for national champions, and you can talk to him and in some places you will be able to order them over the counter

I think that you should buy your packs at a shop so you can pick and chose the best pack in the bunch....Packs are my favorite thing to shop for because I am a voltage numba sucka.
