Yeah Chuck I think that plan backfired somewhat. Maybe because the old-er guys didn't like competing against those younger fellows.
I personally think it should be raised back to 40.

Considering that high school kids are winning championships now, I think you're lucky to have the cutoff at 35. The rules are the rules guys, lets just be thankfull that Ian & Joe are able to continue the tradition that is "The Champs".

Don't forget to mention Kristien Keil (who always seemed to have the most run time of anyone in his battery packs), Andy Dobson (who also won 1/12th mod), and Atushi Hara (who was missile fast, but who had more than his fair share of bad racing luck on the Cleveland ozite). Often the racers from overseas have put on an incredible show. It's really great to see them run when they do decide to attend.

Guess it's that time of year to call the Holiday Inn and make my reservations!

in 4 yrs I can enter the masters class just getting over the shock of being 30+ and soon I'll be an old man in the RC world, that's a bummer. At least my receding hairline will complement my upcoming masters qualification.
I can't wait to attend my first big race. Just being a spectator and peeking around the pits is going to be worth the entry fee. Guess I should start the process of renewing my passport as the race is only three months away.
