Is their such a thing ? im looking for a system that will not break the bank and is a peace of junk
amb systems seem to cost a ton
is their a system that i could buy and then add more transponders when the club grows? to keep the costs down?

www.rclapcounter.com. I've been using it for a couple of years now and it works great. Customer service is low key and simple. A phone call or e-mail works like a charm. We use Laps Free ( www.rctiming.com ) software with it and I'll vouch for it also.

We have a small club and ran Robitronics before we bought a used AMB 20 (this one doesn't score personals). The Robotronics worked for us and we sold it to another club and they used it with no trouble. What type of racing and track. Robotronics is infrared and we did have some issues when trying to use outdoors.

Also, I-Laps is another system that another local track used for a time and then they went to AMB RC (the one that accepts personals).

I bought the trackmate system with 6 transponders and 5 foot bridge for about $350. The stock software is mediocre but the Flipside Racing package is great, compatible, and free http://www.flipsideracing.org/projects/fslapcounter/

iLaps is great. I bought an iLaps system for my club and it's been working perfectly. $550 approx. with 5 bridge sensors and six transponders, you can't argue with that price. Also includes a 5 car per heat version of RC Scoring Pro with upgrade to the full version for $250 or so, bonus.

We have handout transponders at my club so iLaps is great to quickly swap out transponders between cars as needed. Also Craig is a great guy who will answer any questions you have right away.

When I ordered, Craig had it shipped within TWO hours and called me to let me know!!! awesome guy.
