Concrete Oval Set-up for XXX-S
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has any pointers on a set-up for the XXX-S on a concrete oval track. I will be running a 19 turn motor and can run any tires. This will be 6 cell, I also need to know what body to get. If anyone has any information, it would be very very very helpful.

I don't have that car but you might want to try searching or going into the Losi xxx-s thread. I'm sure you'll have better luck there.

OK, how big of an oval are you running on? Does it have any banking?
Personally I would start with 4 deg. carriers, 0 deg. of front toe., 1 deg. standard rear hubs flipped to give you 1 deg. less toe in the rear. low roll center all the way around.
For camber I would set all 4 tires to -1 deg. the go out for a practice session. make a chalk line across each tire, then take 2 laps at speed, adjust your camber and rechalk the tires.... do so until all 4 tires have no chalk left when you pull the car in... this will give you the best tire wear and the most traction....
Above all experiment, don't be afraid to use different caster blocks or toe blocks from left to right.... speed is found from practice and experimentation..... also try to get a buddy to time your laps.... you are looking for the fastest most consistant set-up... remember just because you can sqeeze off 1 lap .2 sec faster with a particualar set-up if you loose .1 sec on 3 other laps the set-up will be slower....

I raced a xxxs on an oval a couple of times and it worked fairly well. I would recomend the Chrysler 300 body by protoform, I chose it because at the time it looked to be the least aggresive and smoothest looking body, no fender flares or squared off edges on that body. I think i also had the best luck using a one way and green springs in the front. For the rear i started with silvers and went up from there to get rid of rear traction.

thanks for all the responses, what about electronics, where did you place them, on the center line or flat on the chassis
