McAllister Racing makes some bodies in that style for 190mm touring cars.

RCMart are good to deal with. Their postage can be slow if you take the cheapest option, but in the 3 years i've been dealing with them and over 20 orders, never had anything missing.
A mate got one of the HPI 200mm bodies to check them out, and although they are heavy, they looked pretty good. We use Mulsanne bodies, it's one of the reasons we got into 200mm pan

Some of my bodies
The BMW is a rare Carlson body from Germany to fit an f103. The rest are Tamiya, Blade or Colt bodies. The 787b is on a custom chassis from d-drive sports (Long f103)

Problem is the way the suspension is for pan car it makes it very difficult to get a good scale looking LMP car on a pan car. Tamiya did it well with the Toyota GT1 but the rear pod on that is much lower than the typical pan car and todays LMP cars are even lower between the wheels. I'd love to see it too but it is going to be really hard to do right. GTP was a lot easier to do and do right.

I think a gtp style body would have been better for wgt and here are a few that can be bought http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/page13.html

Recently I put a PTI Nissan R390 body on a Tamita TA-05 IFS and it got a lot of positive comments but that was about three years ago. Now I race WGT and currently use the DB-9 and have used the Corvette C6.

I love the Prototype bodies and when I raced Super Nitro the BMW LMR body is all I ever used. (Wish I could still find it...love my Super Nitro)
Problem is almost everyone else used it too because it was a great race body. It became like the Dodge Stratus or Mazda 6 in touring cars. If you wanted to race and go fast, you used the LMR.
The revulsion to these kinds of bodies in on-road is probably from the early days of pan cars were bodies like this...basically large wedge shapped Lola's from the CanAm series...were all you had. Later, for road racing pan cars, you saw some of the Porsches and others but really, unless someone put the decals on that said Porsche, you really couldn't tell the difference. All the cars looked the same and they were all boaring except for the paint. The reason TCs took off was because they looked real and there was such a variety. But, like everything else, they went the route of "This is the fast body to run" and pretty soon they all looked the same.
