Oh, by the way... other brand spur gears are 100% TCS legal.

Just to let you know, I was using a Monster Stock, 122 spur/ 36 pinion setting. Hope this helps and good luck racing!
Cool, thanks eeyan.

Default tao4r gearing

I race the 04r on carpet and I know that all standar 64 pitch gears are legal for TCS races. I think mine is a 128/35 with the monster stock and an carpet with 3300's.

The sway bar set up you are refering to is the World Champ set up.It uses the rear bars to give better roll out in front?I think?
Any way! I have this on my M2.I originaly got it for the cool factor but I have learned that it has bettered some of my practice lap times.

Once you get the 04 sorted out, you'll like it a lot better than the DJE TA03. The 04 has much more steering and less drivetrain drag so the car has better acceleration and more top speed. This is especially true in GT3 and with stock motors. Good luck!

I raced against this car with my MR-4TC Pro and we where both pretty even on foams. I agree the car does go throught the corners much better and get up to speed much quicker.

One of my ball studs broke in the shaft and I can't seem to find these parts anywhere on Tamiya's site

Still looking for a TAO4-R carpet set up on rubber tires. Any place on the net for setups for this car?

Hey Futureal

I think there's a set up on the Settings TAO4R thread for carpet, not sure if it's for rubber tires though

Be careful with the 5x9mm alum ball studs that come in the 04R kit. If you break one, like I did, they are hard to find. My LHS is still trying to find some. They called Tamiya and they said it's out of stock.
