I've got Lunsford turnbuckles on my 414M, and I wouldn't bother with anything else!!

yes! The stock TA04 comes with 1 deg rear toe in hubs. The 04-R comes with the 2 deg rear hub carriers for more rear end stability.

No one knows the TA04 pro kit gold spring stiffness? Is it stiffer than say, Tamiya Blue of the hard tuned spring set??

53466 TA04 Carbon Fibre Chassis

Potato: Can't you "Feel" the springs? And compare them to the tuned set?

Hi guys, I am going to by a hopped up 04 pro, what is the difference in the pro and the R? This one has carbon fiber, front and center one ways, and some other stuff. Thanks in advance. I'm interested in traveling to Maryland for the TCS race in July.

Try around a 5.8 FDR to start with.

Otherwise find out where other cars are geared, divide the spur by the pinion. next multiply that by the transmission ratio...

2.5--TC3
1.83--XXX-S
RS4 Pro or Pro 2...don't bother it's the same as the 04...

Divide that number by 2.13, divide the Spur you are using by the total of what you got so far....... voila!!! your pinion to start with.

BTW: using the HPI will be will be close, but the 04 is way more efficient and you can gear higher without sacrificing acceleration.

It's supposed to be an updated chassis, after racers were complaining about the front belt being too tight (chassis too long.) They finally updated it, and apparently, includes flat head screws, battery slots, and removable chassis posts. If you noticed, all items that included the original chassis were back-ordered since November!

Aurra,
I think this *may* be something different - my "updated" chassis I got from my LHS looks exactly the same as the tight chassis, but the front belt is much looser. Cool thing is it has battery slots, would loose some weight. I'm not a fan of chassis milling

Dragon:
Not really - the top/bottom decks VS 414m are different. 414m has metal gear cases. Suspension geometry is also different. The 414 can anchor the camber link to the gearcase. 04 can only hook to the shock tower.

Alvin

The main reason for the new upgraded chassis is because the chassis was about 1mm longer then it should be so the belt was really tight. I had to send mine back in to TA and they are sending me a new chassis when they get to the US. The rest of the things are added perks.
