I didn't say universal ize but universal type. Almost every belt manufacture has this S3M or 3M type belt.
As in your case, the 162-3gt, the 162 number is probably the length of your belt (please check it). But 502j, the 502 is not the length of it.
There's other method beside using yarn and ruler.
If you don;t have them both, just count the teeth on your belt and multiply by 3. Usually that's the result of your belt length.
About the 4mm wide, if you don't find any ready stock 4mm wide with the length you're looking for, you can ask the belt store to cut it for you (perhaps some extra fees apply). I once asked them to cut 3mm for my Xray T1 belt.... and I can buy 3 belts with the price of 1 original Xray belt (Sorry X-ray... no offense... I'm just a limited budget racer ....
