Is there any weight benifit of using alloy bits and peices ?
I am trying to upgrade My car for 2004 so I can be a bit more competitive and dropping a bit of weight of the chassis and adding a bit more tuneability is where I am looking... I also want a bit more flexibilty in battery mounting
I would rather use the Aluminum Arm mounts by Tamiya, its much better since you have 2 choices for the rear. They are great on my TAO4-R. The front Alm. Susp. Blocks does not offer any change or advantage in set up but looks cool!!!!!! If you have a little to spare, the SQUARE rear cariers and knuckle arms for the TBevo3 are great for the O4-R and are a direct fit. YOu can achieve 0-3degrees of toe in in the rear with that Option.
For the Ti Screws- Stick with Tamiya Ti Screws, I did! Although any other Ti Screws will do, Its Just to bad that Tamiya does not have a screw kit. A little more on the pocket to get the Tamiya Ti Screws for the Car.
And ofcourse-Ti TurnBuckles, either from Tamiya or Lunsford
Also, the SSG shock tower and upper deck is also a good upgrade for 2004. You just have to change to shorter springs, captured ball ends is also a good choice.
PS: of course alm is a little heavy
TIP: if you are going to get the SSG upper deck use it on top of the regular Carbon upper deck to make the chassis stiffer!
Glad to know they are still a few who is sticking withthe O4-R
Peace and Happy Racing!!
SQUARE offers a Ti Screw kit for the TAO4-R www.rc-square.com
and you can order them at www.rainbowten.co.jp
I got most of my stuff from there
