Default TQ Eagle - how rare?

Hi everyone,
I'm just getting reaquainted with this hobby after a nearly 20yr break. Now my son is showing interest in my old cars, so I pulled everything out and I'm noticing that I still have a lot of cars that have become quite rare.
For starters, I have two TQ Eagles. One with all titanium hardware, including front axle beam. The second has it's original hardware. To be honest, I've never seen another TQ. I can barely find any mention of them online, either. How rare are these cars, and what are they worth? I barely used them 20yrs ago when we raced carpet, and have no emotional attachment. My 4yr old will destroy them, so maybe it's best to get them into the hands of someone who really wants a vintage car like this.

Thanks,
Kurt

Default rare eagle

Back in the day, when I first saw a TQ Eagle being run at the Cleveland Indoor champs, I tried very hard to obtain one. Sadly, my repeated attempts to purchase a car fell unfulfilled. It's a safe bet that the 2 TQ Eagle cars you have are super rare. I'm probably not the only guy who would enjoy seeing photos of those rare birds.

WOW, definitely rare, I spent years trying to find one - "back in the day", as they say. I always heard incredible things about them but only ever saw pictures and heard accounts.

Please post pics you have some time.

Maybe you could get a hold of Bob Stormer... I don't know him, but I am pretty sure he is into vintage collecting.

Pics???

I am almost positive that Bob Stormer of Stormer Hobbies (obviously) was looking for one, you should try to get ahold of him for sure, but please take pics of them first. I am sure someone in this thread will help you post the pics if you need the help. I am willing, if needed.

Wow! Definitely one for the history books. What were its contemporaries? Was it around the same time as the RC12i. Never seen them before. Must be before my time in RC.

I agree, been in and out of the hobby since the late 70's and this is the first one I've seen.

Contemporaries? 12L, ART Agitator, Bolink Eliminator, Delta Spyder.

I had the B version of the car, which featured a graphite plate front-end, mounted on ridiculously stiff springs. You could change the spring tension on the mounting screws to adjust caster, and overall ride-height as well.

Coolest cars ever.

While gathering up my spare parts for these cars today, I found something possibly more rare than these TQ Eagle 12's. I found that I still have the original assembly/parts manual AND Fred's tuning notes for these cars. What's next? Maybe I'll find a three legged buffalo nickel in the box, lol.

I think I saw Rusty Husband run a 4-link version of this car at Cleveland one year. Now that would be a rare car to see as well.
