The team setups sheets show max timing (50deg) and big rollouts (~90mm). I would drop down to 80mm for a tight track, check you temp after 2min and gear up if you have to.

I'm waiting on a 21.5T (v1) to arrive, and am wondering if my 3Racing alu heatsink will be sufficient?
I know this depends on gearing, will be running 55T/28T to start giving approx FDR of 5.11. Looking to try and get FDR down to around 4.0.

to answer some of your questions,

1, you will need a fan blowing directly on the motor (yeah racing tornado)
heatsinks are a waste of wieght,

2. FDR is way way way too high, for a reedy at Castle hill aim for about 63-65 rollout, (FDR 3.2-3.1)

Beth.

In my tc6.1 i normally run 65T spur and 41 or 42T pinion there for 21.5

Beth.
Hey Beth,

Thanks for the reply! Ahhhh haha no probs, "noob alert!!".

Sweet, I will pick one of those up, spewing I didn't ask before submitting my order...!
In regard to the gearing, are you running 48p gears? I'm going to adapt my TT-01 with a FF-03 spur holder so I can run 48p. Should I buy the gears locally?
...and in regard to rollout, what is the diameter of the control wheels / tyres at CHR?

Cheers!

Brad

Hay Brad,

48 pitch gears are fine, available locally, Linda even sells them at the canteen on race night.
Im not sure what will fit in the TT01, best bet is to bring your car down once you have the adapter and we will try what we have to see what fits, that way you dont have to buy 20 gears that may or may not fit. People like me have a thousand gears so just come over and we will get you sorted.

There is a rollout calculator on castle hills website, diameter varies a little but its about 64mm.

Cheers
Beth.

Perfect! I was thinking it'd most likely be a trial and error exercise so bought an aftermarket hardened alu 28T 0.6mod pinion to confirm the thing moves before bringing it down, haha.

Hoping my parts arrive early this week so can get to building, however will probably be next week before I can get down there ... Plus need to get heatsink and fan as don't wanna cook it first time out!!

Cheers,

Brad
