On my AE B4.1, I run a Sonic 8.5 with an Hobbywing Xerun V2.1 120A 1S... Smooth, every setting needed (I also use on a 10.5 touring)

25 minutes when grip is low (disty track) to 20 minutes (hard pack). Our club track is built for 1/8th offroad, long and fast track (euro style) and due to the bad weather we have had in the south of France this spring, our track didn't turn to black/blue groove.
With the same batts, on my TF5, same type of ESC, 10.5 Reedy, stock software but non blinky, I have about 6/7 minutes of runtime at least

Has anybody dropped a TP Stator in one of these cans? Have not seen a straight answer yet, and the new stators look so much like the TP stators.

Yes.

Fits allthough the stator length is shorter, you need to either bend the solder tabs over the edge of the FRP or place some insulation behind the solder tabs so as they dont move so much and cause a short out.

Less rotor strength due to the shorter stator.

I have heard that the Reedy and Thunderpower motors are the same motor with cosmetic differences. Can anyone confirm this?

Can you buy the new back half of the can separate? I have 4.5 in the old style and 5.0 in the new style, would be good if they all matched but in mod it doesn't really matter because you don't need the mega timing you can get on the new can

Not sure, it depend on your speedo.
Last week-end i've run on a "huge" track (european style).
With my sxx v2 speedo, 4.0 soft + 4.5 sonic, i should put max motor timing (30° on the old can) and 1.5.6.3 for the speedo.

I've lost time to find the setup as i was afraid to put lots of motor timing.
But i' ve remember that x-12 have a minimum timing of 27.5° .

I know 4.0 would be best but sometime 4.5 with lot of timing have a better feeling.

Sébastien
