TC Battery Strapping Tape
What is everyone using here? Like the Hudy strapping tape stuff, but $25 a roll?
I have some white tape thats similar, but looks tacky on the car IMO, would prefer black instead of white. Any other options that are like the Hudy tape, without the Hudy price tag?
And no, I'm not going to use a velcro strap
Thanks!

The hudy stuff is very good but the price is crazy. The common name is fiber tape, you can find the clear even at hd.
I use this stuff superior hobbies sells. I think it's around $5. It's a little thinner width wise than the hudy stuff and I've had a single layer cut on the chassis. So I use two pieces on top of eachother and have had no issues yet.
Edit: that tape in the ebay link a few posts up looks pretty good

Unless I'm racing I reuse it a few times as the adhesive is pretty strong.

The less elastic and cheaper stuff has a really nasty residue especially after being heated.
Also the fiber is added protection against the tape snapping

The problem is the elasticity is often uncontrollable no matter how tight you wrap it unless you use alot of wraps. Electrical tape will just keep stretching and stretching until it's a string or it snaps.

Quite a number of the tapes are rebranded "Sliontec" fibre tape. Xenon, Tamiya, Zeppin, Core, xceed among others.
This stuff is good, but not a patch on th hudy stuff.
The hudy might be dearer, but it lasts longer. You don't even need to replace it every race meet.
$25 but a roll lasts >> a season.
