Default exotech t3 chassis - worth it?

just bought myself a second hand t3, in really good condition and really happy with it. racing the majority of time on carpet with rubber tires, spent the whole day yesterday getting my mi4 dialled, thought it was perfect, saw this t3 for sale so asked to put my radio gear in it to have a quick go, was immediately on the same pace as my mi4 without any messing with settings!!,

anyway, the only thing i dont like is the chassis!! doesnt seem right to have slots cut out for nicads now we're all using lipos.

has anyone here used the exotech chassis? am thnking about buying one as ths seems to be the main difference between the t3 and t3 11. if so, are they any better than the nicad chassis??

thanks for your help

mark

The exotech chassis is great, also look into the t3 11 conversion.

Love mine. Don't get the one with the lipo weights, get the one that has the carbon fiber lipo holders. If you get the one with the weights, you have to load up the other side of the car with lead to get it to balance out. You end up about 80 grams heavy.

Does anyone know why the Exotek gear is far more expensive in their own store than Stormer Hobbies?

eg Ta05 Chassis kit is $89.95 on Stormer vs $114.95 on Exotek shop.

the t3 2011 uses a completely different steering mechanism that the t3. the exotek top deck an chassis are not compatible. you need the t3 2011 stuff. I would look at the conversion for the 2011 before I bought the exotek chassis. Nothing agains the exotek chassis (I had one), but the 2011 car performs better than the t3. ecs shafts are nice, but spend the money on the conversion first. just my 2c.

Hello, We price the shop items at retail price or slightly below retail in order to allow shops that stock our items to be able to make a reasonable return. It's ok for shops to under price us but not good for the shops that support us if we under price them.
With that though I think Stormer made a mistake on the items price

Does the TA05 Chassis conversion require us to get a new servo case as we have to cut the bottom left servo ear to mount on a stock TA05 chassis.

Hi, No not needed. The TA05v2 kit includes tall servo mounts so you would use the tall servo mount in the upper uncut hole as shown in our instructions.

This might sound silly but is the XR3'11 chassis alot better than the XR3. I'm planning on buying one of these kits soon but I dont really want to purchase the double steering setup from an '11.

Is the T3'11 really that much better of a car than the T3?
