lots of good tips here.
I've been using brake cleaner to clean them, then hit them with some traction compound and straight into a zip lock bag. Keeps them fresh.

There's not really much tyre prep. Clean the tyres with some sort of alcohol, Much More have the Blue and Red tyre cleaners. Apply the tyre additive 20-40 mins before the run.
There's loads of tyre additives out there:
LRP tyre traction...
Much More have four different I think...
Corally Jack the Gripper
Paragon (smells like hell)
All people have different oppinions... But the LRP do work good, start with that one

Ask the operator of your carpet track what sauce is allowed. SOme clubs only allow one sauce.

I used to clean with brake cleaner but i found that it faded in the middle of the run. now I, along with others at our track, clean with traction compound (mostly sxt) then apply and let sit. For me I also like to put more on right before i go out.

Come on man!!!! You don't need no stinking tire prep. Start with a fresh tire, sauce it up, race. Then what you do is..........sauce it up and race again.......then.........sauce it up and race again.......Ya get the picture.

WD-40 and Simple Green both work great in tire cleaning. Then I put paragon ground effects 15 minuts before the race and wipe it off 5 minutes before I start.
