Default Problem calibrating throttle on DX3S

Hi guys,

I have a problem that's driving me nuts, and I've been trying for a couple of hours to solve it to no avail.

Anyway, I have a new Spektrum DX3S and I'm trying to bind a Hobbywing Ezrun 13t/35A system to the radio.

The problem is that despite following the instructions for the speedy to the letter, once the ESC is bound the throttle races when the trigger is neutral. The ESC instructions state to reverse the throttle on the radio, disable ABS, and set the EPA/travel to 100 per cent. I've done all of this...as mentioned once bound, the motor revs pretty hard. Only when I apply full brake on the transmitter does the motor stop. I've even set the throttle trim to B50, which slows the motor down but won't bring it to a complete stop.

Am I missing a basic but vital link here? I have a race event in 2 days which I'm trying to prepare for, so I'm beginning to see red!

Thanks in advance for any answers you might have.

Regards,

Steve

With Spektrum and various speed controls, I have sometimes found it helped to max out the throttle endpoint to 125% both ways. ESC's seem to calibrate better with this setting.

Thanks guys for the reply.

I had all the adjustments on the transmitter done fine...i wasn't calibrating the ESC in the right order (ie neutral, forward then reverse)...instead I was doing forward, reverse and neutral...I've done this kind of thing alot before but was having a mental blank.

Thanks again for your responses.

Cheers,

Steve
