RIP Mr. Reedy. I personally have never had the chance to meet him, but his influence extends to even the parking lot bashers such as myself. Indeed the RC community has lost one of its founding fathers today...

I had the privilege of being sponsored by Mr. Reedy when I was younger, and I just remember being at several races with the 'A' team drivers, and him coming over to little old me, making sure I was happy with the motors, to make sure I brought them over to be checked. I learned a lot from him in those brief encounters. Looking back it was more than just motor mechanics, it was how to treat people on and off the track.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Mike's family both in and out of the industry.

Sorry to hear about Mike. I knew him many years as one of the "guiding forces" behind electric RC racing with Associated Electrics. He truly was a gentleman- and helped a LOT of good racers become World Champions in electric racing. Truly a legend in RC racing -- he certainly made the world a better place to be in. All the best to the Reedy family.
Thanks Mike

Default RIP

This is truly a sad day for the industry. My families thoughts and prayers are with his family and closest friends. I am sad I didn't get to see him one last time to thank him for everything that he did for me back in the early days of my racing.

I had the pleasure like many others for "Mr. Reedy" to take me under his wing and help me not only become a better racer, but a better person. I too will never forget how many people this man touched.

God speed Mike, and say hello to my dad when you see him.

R.I.P. To be sad is to mourn one's death, but to share one's triumphs is to honor their life.
If only endurance racing was a thing.

Unhappy The passing of a legend!

I had the pleasure of meeting him only a couple of times but still was amazed by his love of the sport and his willing to show up at the races even though you could see he wasn't in the best of health.
He is truly in a better place!
God bless!

I'm really sad to hear this news about Mike. Mike was a great guy and one of the friendlyist persons in this industry. I knew Mike for about 10 year when I started to race international.
I still have a pair of brushes in a box that Mike gave me at the Reedy Race 2002 in Spain. Even I was running for another brand of motors, Mike offered his help to do my motors the whole weekend with great result!

Mike, it was a pleasure to know you, rest in peace.

Ive had the privilege to talk to a lot of people while working in shops and around the industry, and I have been blessed with some awesome and educating conversations with many of them. I have been told many-a-time that Mike Reedy was a great person, inside and outside of our hobby. Many have said loads about his character, just look at all the professionals that came to this thread to post memory, amazing. I had a Reedy shirt on today, just a silent way to thank a guy that did something for a hobby I love.

Great people seem to go unnoticed these days, seems that a whole industry got to witness one personally.

I've started a Mike Reedy hashtag on Twitter if anyone wants to tweet a message on there.

A very sad day indeed. I remember watching Mike drive an RC10L narrow super speedway chassis at Mega Track just before the chassis was released. Anyone who witnessed the switch from wide chassis to superspeedway chassis was amazed at the handling. But even more impressive was the speed in Mike's car. He was one of the finest persons I have ever met and he will be missed. Scary how time passes so quickly. Feels like it was just yesterday when ROAR held it's offroad nationals in Vineland, NJ, (1980's) and was introduced to RC. Rest in peace Mike and for us old timers, your contribution to the hobby will never be forgotten.
