Fits fine that way...that's one of the alternate battery mounting positions on the Exotek chassis.

stumper: What battery holder is that?

Body fits good and yes its a shorty .

Its yokomo DRB shorty lipo holder. You have to either buy the 1/4 risers or make your own to fit a pack in it. I found the holder on ebay and made the risers myself.

Cool thanks! 1/4" stand-offs are pretty easy for me to find locally.

I honestly dont even know ! I've been away from r/c for like 5+ years and it was TC that I ran last so its a huge learning curve right now for me. I havent had a day where I can just practice . Its usually just the hour or so before a race and I've only raced like 4-5 times now.... I race with Mantix in Houston.

Theres one slight mod that you have to do instead of using the existing hardware too. A standard shorty is about an 1/8 " to long. So the side its supposed to pivot on I put one of those AE screws that accepts a body clip. And then drilled a hole on the side where the body clip is supposed to go and made that the pivot side. Its a fairly easy mod. You'll see what Im talking about when you get one. I can take better pictures if you need when you get one.

Its very little work for a pretty useful item. Most people just tape their batteries down here and dont remove them which is fine but I want to be able to remove it . And it adds a little bit more protection from getting t-boned in the battery.

Edit **** The part that im taking about that pivots is the part acts as the door.

me too! been away over 7 yrs. just need lots of track time to get the feel.
biggest thing that helpded me was adding ball diff w/ceramic bearings. soft Pit shimizu rear tires with air gap, and set rear droop at 10.5 mm from set up board to middle outer piviot pin. Make sure all rear shock links are correct length to allow droop.
talk to the guys at the track on how to set the rear droop, and ball diff, rear set up is very important re driveability.
