Little lead weight that mounts under the nose of the car to add more forward weight. Gives more front traction for turns

I also shoo gooed CF flat stock on the front wing. Haven't driven it yet since that little mod, but definitely simple enough.

Just finished the piano wire set. Turned out great. I used the 3M splicing tape on the lowers even though it is not needed. Thanks to radio shack for having oversized heat shrink!

Just ran the fgx for the first time. tires haven't made it here yet so I ran on a vta set. Unfortunately the surface was 40 degree asphalt and it took 5 minutes to even think about heating up a tire but I was still impressed. It did have a push and definitely needs the forward weight shift to turn properly, but I was expecting it. Dialing in some drag brake really helped corner entry. Im sure things only get better on some true f1 tires.

I ran it with an older silver can and a traxxas speed control and also with a Novak edge and ballistic 21.5. The silver can really lacked acceleration but had a great top end. The 21.5 had torque for days but it was almost undriveable accelerating out of the turns. I'm sure most of this was due to the temps and tires. Can't wait to get it on the carpet. Current FDR is around 3.05.

I already love this car.

I'm about to place an order on parts and thought it would be a good idea to pick up a turnbuckle wrench to make life easier. Anybody know what size is used on the FGX turnbuckles? Would this be the correct one http://store.hkshobby.com/product_in...oducts_id=1208 Thanks

Just got done working on the fgx tonight. Added the upper link conversion, reinforced the lower arms with carbon flat stock, and have 2 new sets of hpi bridgestones that arrived today. I will be running it tomorrow at a track with some unforgiving walls. can't wait to get this thing racing.

The car pictured is mine and I used HPI 34mm turnbuckles front and rear. I had to Dremel about 2-3mm off the rear links however. I plan on rebuilding the rear links with something in the 25mm range so I have more and easier caster adjustments. As it sits now I'm at 3 degrees of caster with no room to go higher. I have the camber/caster block forward with one line exposed versus the 3 shown in the manual. For the record, I too prefer the kit front end looks, but love the added adjustability this provides.
