Well, I guess that's good, as I'd be using a Ballistic. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

I got the car on Monday and just finshed. I'll take more pictures tomorrow. I used most the parts from F104. The front end is my designed for F104, the motor mount enlarged the bottom hole 6mm and I able to use 45T pinion with the kit spur. The wheel base is same as F104. Front and rear width 190 mm.

I notice also, that besides the link front end, you replaced the upper deck and rear shock mounts. Where did those parts come from? Looks like you probably also solved the issue of the motor hitting the rear post and limiting adjustability too.

You just may have solved ALL of the FGX problems with this conversion!

Guys I know the motor has clearance issues but isn't the easiest way around it to buy the optional speed gear set . This will give you 35 and 39 tooth spur which will solve the pinion problem ? Am I missing something? The set of 4 gears is about $6 if I recall .

Think the problem was that those gears werent available when some bought their FGX. I may be wrong, I dont have one yet.

Have been running the 35 spur, 17.5turn in blinky mode. Can only say it is plenty quick, certainly a handfull with 35 pinion.
Going to give it a run sunday (aust time) on the track.

Fingers crossed the beefed up front arms hold up

maybe these will fit and help beef up the front end:

They're from Cross and intended for the CF01'08.

With a traditional silver can or Novak SS 540 case (same diameter all the way to the endbell), the motor can only move about 1mm towards the front. Mine is actually hitting the pink aluminum post used for the battery door. If that post were only 7mm further forward there would be no issue. The motor would have a full range of adjustment for the motor mount slot.

I just got the spur gear set in. Where is a good place to start for 21.5?

I might not be the right person to answer this question since I haven't driven the car yet "But" , from people I have talked to... your going to want the option 35 tooth spur... and then work with 30 to 38 size pinions for a 21.5 motor... I'm going to start with a 32 and go from there...

The ballistic is good, full range of adjustment:

Caliper reads 46.62 mm.

The Z3R-S is 46 mm. Oscar at A-main just emailed me.

So there are 2 choices that fit and adjust with no mods.
