It's not easy to get an FGX to 1050. I built a custom top deck out of carbon, added the fast gear set, did the exotek front end conversion, low profile shorty etc and it's just not there in speed. You have 3-4 gears with bearings eating away at the efficiency vs a pan car with 1 gear and 2 bearings.
Trust me, i'm still in love with the FGX but it's too much work to get it competitive nowadays. Such a badass car and design, makes me sad really that it's all pan car now.

I also will get all the necessary grinding done to fit a 42t 48p pinion in there for some top speed, and I will have to start charging my super shorty pack higher than 5Amps.....
The fgx is not done yet.....

The practice did not go too well, but I still managed a 14.995 sec fastest lap.....
Anyway, I will definitely add full esc punch and brakes on top of changing my 32gram gear diff to the lighter 21 gram roller diff+ aluminum dogbones(4grams lighter than steel)... I am hoping for the best after that 15gram rotational weight loss....
2.63fdr (36t pinion/35t spur) seem to be the sweet spot for my novak boss 25.5t... Hopefully more fgx cars will show up next time at the track....

Chassis is hitting the ground, so I got to test handling at a higher rideheight(6mm+)....
I also ordered the parts for a new ball diff mod with 48p gears, hoping to get the diff down to 15 grams or less in addition to gaining some efficiency... Cheers...

What gears are you going to use?
#4829
Well according to my measurements, I will need to use a robinson 60t 48p spur gear, and a robinson 26t or 27t 48p pinion with 5mm bore... The only downside is that these types of pinions only come in steel not aluminum, but I guess it won't make much of a difference anyway...I am hoping the 27t pinion fits so I can get the internal ratio down to 2.625 instead of 2.71+ (with the 26t)....
