Thanks G-rem. I wanted to build a bastard child look!
It's Tamiya PS-23 Gun Metal color. Not really an F1 color but what they heck! I like it!
I'll put more pictures up soon. Under that skirt she is all exoteek!
She likes 2S but she should be able to do 3S soon with the belt!
In case you haven't already seen and FGX on 3S, and for some reason this site does not let me post a simple youtube link, do a search in youtube for: "RC F1 Speed Run Sakura FGX on 3s"
I am no Ferrari fan but that thing is cooking!!!!

Default FGX takes the win!

Stock FGX takes the win!

http://youtu.be/vvZdiGjNh4Y

1. Sakura FGX
2. Tamiya TRF101
3. VBC LightningF
4. Speed Passion SP-1
5. Tamiya F104

Unfortunately the remaining cars weren't able to finish.

The driver of the green car was probably fit to kill the marshal that first stepped on his car to knock him out of first place, then stood in his way at the very end of the race. I'm not saying the black car wasn't fast, but he wasn't the fastest.

Glamour shot:

It doesn't have anything special. I'm running +1 degree of toe, -1 degree of camber front and back, 80 weight Associated oil in the shocks and 5.5mm ride height in the rear. I using the Pit Shimizu PS-0561 fronts and PS-0565 rears on stock FGX wheels. Everything else is built to the spec in the manual. It even still has the original 3racing oil in the gear diff. The only non-stock parts are the titanium front axles and the high speed gear set. I believe I'm running a 35T spur and 24 or 23T pinion. Sorry, I'm not so much a setup guy.

Electronics are a Futaba S9551 servo, Novak Edge ESC (only setting changed was reverse disabled) with a Ballistic 21.5. I have the brakes turned down on the radio to like 60%. Motor timing turned all the way up on the end bell.

It definitely isn't going to set the fastest lap, but it works pretty darn well

Yeah Robert, the green car, got hosed. He is clearly faster than I am and was doing everything he could to get by. He broke his car during that last hit, so the corner wouldn't have made any difference anyway. However, a win is a win I'm sure he'll get me next time.

Ryan (angrymelon, driving the black car) is a great driver, but I think it's impressive that the FGX is able to hang as well as it does. To a certain degree, I kind of regret getting rid of mine in favor of the SP-1 (the blue car that checked out after a few laps due to mechanical failure). Not that I think I'd do better with the FGX. But I'd do almost as well with a more realistic platform - which is what drew so many of us to F1 in the first place. When it comes down to it, we've given up an a far cooler platform for 2 or 3 tenths of a second per lap.
That said, the SP-1 is a rocket - I just need to knock the rust off my driving. I may need to find an FGX as a back-up car...

I kept mine. It is still one of the better handling cars out there. Every once in a while I get mine out and run it. I need to put it back on track to see if my driving has gotten any better.

Default new fgx build

I recently finished my FGX build back in June and I went with the Ferrari 2010 color scheme. It is such a beauty. I also painted all plastic bits to match the color scheme. I think it came out really nice and I like it a lot. Check it out and I hope you guy like it too.

With All 4 tires balanced with lead weight, it handles very well even on non-prep street/parking lot surface.

I sanded down the slick surface on the front and back wings with a new scott scrub. I used 3 tamiya ts (plastic) paints and painted in the following order with some masking. Each color was about 5 coating 20 minutes apart.

Base - TS-76 Mica Silver Item #85076
White - TS-26 Pure White Item #85026
Red - TS-8 Italian Red Item #85008
