Just a quicky .... don't want to derail this thread.

The Fireball Classic, held at Lincoln/ Nebraska, is going to include F1 this year. As long as enough turn up of course.

Look up Fireball classic on the Nitro on-road thread.

Thanks all.

Regards
BM

Hi JC,

the middle lay-shaft is a custom made one (on the pics it is only a simple M3 threaded shaft for tests). I'll post a review of all mods I had to do when the car is finished...very soooooon

Cheers,
G-rem

^ Thank you, sir. Got it! Can't wait to see the photos of the final product. It's been awhile since I last visited this thread and somehow got stunned when I saw your belt-mod version. So clean.

Cheers!

JC

Unfortunately still on process...the design of the new chassis took me some times and manufacturing it is not so easy, but now I can say it is close to be released...hope so

Stay tuned...

Just finished building one of these cars. Mine is standard apart from the IFS upgrade. Very pleased with the quality considering the price except for the gear diff which is leaking a little and has a lot of resistance.

Is there a gear diff, perhaps from another manufacturer, which will fit this car?

If I remember OK the space between the pinions in transmission are too tight if you set up the "bearing holders" (in page 9 of my manual) like manual suggest it. If you to set up the bearing holders to have the differential bit backward, transmission will run smoother.

Thanks again for more advice, sorry I missed it until now! The resistance is in the diff itself, if I take it out of the car and turn the outdrives it's very stiff with 1k oil in it, not at all notchy though. When I find some time to give it some love I'll rebuild it and see if I can find anything as I do like the idea of a low/no maintenance gear diff =]

During my searches I found one diff from spec r which may (or may not) fit. It's for the Tamiya M06, has anyone tried this diff? http://www.spec-r.com/default/index....roducts_id=360

I did a few laps with the car at my local club on their carpet track. Not really set the car up or did anything with the tyres and the car lacks steering and pushes a lot but it's a lot of fun to drive. I don't know enough about F1 to say it will be quick when I have tuned the understeer out of it but I'm sure it will be even more fun =D

I'm thinking of changing tyres to sort out the understeer. Right now I have Pit Shimizu soft grooved tyres front and rear so I was thinking about changing the rears to medium.
