I have just received my IFS

I noticed that camber settings is totally different than the "standard" version.

Now you configure the camber on the lower triangles with 4 plastic pieces. That way you get 0 to 3 camber.

Default settings from the notice is 0 camber.
The question is what am I gonna does with this 35g steel plate that I bought initally to get more steering and 1 camber...

Do you guys notice a huge difference without and without this optional piece of steel?

You guys are killing me with all the cool photos!!! I went thru over 100 pages on this thread and I am getting confused as to what parts to get.

Today I ordered a FGX and IFS. The last 50 pages of this thread answered most of my questions and I am on the same page as the rest of you. I want the exotek v2 also.

I finally ran my FGX for the first time and as expected the front suspension broke after a few mild crashes. I have the IFS. And one of the IFS specific part broke as well as one upper arm. Do I have to buy the whole set to replace lower block? Hmm...

This is the easiest F1 RC car I have driven.

Looks like that is going to need some bracing...possibly similar to the old F201 braces.

Hopefully Exotek will make that piece out of carbon fiber also.

I put the broken bottom pieces together with gorilla glue and replaced broken upper arm with a new one. I placed an order for the exotek upper arm.
I noticed the stock upper arms come in contact with the rims at full lock to lock turn so it is not just exotek arm problem.

G'DAY,
Yes some pics attached, you need to cut the top brace plate, trim the the top plate so the pivot hole fits snug and keeps it's strenght, there will be a full write up of what i did on http://www.rcformula1.com.au/index.p...-manufacturers ... under 3 racing soon. I will be giving it a full test out this sunday it's fiddly but seems to work well so far.

Things i have found aswell with the new IFS is that the ball ends will pull out on the camber droop plate, and to easily, all it takes is to tighten them up a tweak to much and thats the start of it, DONT FORCE THIS PART JUST TO A FIRM TORQUE..... I also put the the plastic spacer at the top of the steering hub on the top of the arm instead.

That bottom ball joint attachment is weak because they use camber setting inserts instead of whole different plate for each setting. I hope exotek does something about it.

Thanks, there is a write up on the stock installment and a short look at the EXOTEC IFS system I have done, the write up for the full installment will be up in a week or so.

I went out for a short test today and YES a much, much better improvement, I didn't have time to play with set up but happy with where it is now, same goes with the stock FGX very happy with the change it made to the car , front tyres where planted firmly on the ground even at the high speed corners much better control in the chiccane and at the slower corners, you could see the front working well.

Attached are some pics of the stock FGX I used in the F-1 series here in Victoria Australia

I'd be interested to know what setup you have on the stock FGX.

I got my IFS kit yesterday. My kit is standard chassis wise, but I do use the alloy bulkhead and motor mount. I run the hardest rear spring, softest front, 3000 oil in the dampers. Currently the best tyre I've found for our surface was hpi med rear with soft front. I'm still lacking a lot of steering. I'm hoping the IFS with the option of anti squat and if I really have to a shorty lipo, will get me where I want the car.

I just broke my front deck on a high speed crash (among upper suspension arm) and I thought I'd wait for exotek v2 to come out instead of buying stock upper deck.
But then again, this new IFS has it's own upper deck so I was just wondering if I buy IFS will there be wasted parts when I later get exotek v2 ?
Or does exotek conversion most probably use all except the upper deck from that new IFS set?

Only the upper deck and the lower a-arms are replaced. You will need to buy upper arms still even if you buy ifs system. Exotek chassis doesn't come with any a-arms so nothing will be wasted except for the upper deck from ifs.
