Hello all,
Has anybody tested the new tires from ride on FGX?

- Front F-1 rubber slick TiresΦ63mm R-1 High Grip Compound (24022)
- Rear F-1 rubber slick TiresΦ63mm R-1 High Grip Compound (24023)
http://www.rc-ride.co.jp/product.php?cat_id=6

I have googled this and found plenty of shop selling them but I have not seen any test on them.

Do they perform better/worse than pit shimizu tires on asphalt at low temperature?
Do they perform better/worse than HPI tires on asphalt on warmer temperature?

Thank you for your help

I love the rear shock set up instead of using side springs; I had honest to goodness thought of that very same thing yesterday after looking at a TRG conversion kit. I though why are those dampers not shocks with a link style rear end...

Nice work looks crazy!

Indoors , textured concrete , tight track : compared to ride super soft, the front delivered less grip, the rear delivered slightly more grip.
I would like to see how the front go on a hot asphalt track.......

Hi all,
just bought myself one and really looking forward to strap it around the track
quick question for those that have tried and tested:

What body/wing (front and rear)/diffuser fits this car or what doesnt fit? Or does pretty much everything out there fits, but needs a bit of trimming?

Thanks!

Hi guys, new to this car and I have a couple of questions.

Are the tires the same for the F104 wheels and FGX?

Any suggestions for gearing for a 21.5 motor?

Sakura FGX Racing Update
Japan 2012 GP - Photos, video, details here.
14 Oct 2012

A-main
6th - Porsha Mangilit

B-main
Winner - Rodil dela Paz (used Tamiya Type A tires for F201 on his FGX)
3rd - Rains Viola

My daughter was concerned about racing the FGX for the very first time as our track is medium size with good traction, typically favorable to Tamiyas.

Photo above: The box stock 3Racing Sakura FGX of Porsha. Sanwa MT-4 controller, 3.7FDR, Pit Shimizu tires and FullyMax 3300/30c lipo. Qualified 9th and finished 6th overall after 3 x 15 minute mains of racing. This is the highest finish of any FGX in the F1RC Club races. Looks promising for Team FGX.

Our fastest F1 driver, using an F104v2, mentioned that if he used an FGX, he might be even faster. Main reason is the rear toe-in of the FGX. I wish he would drive one soon so I can see the true speed of the FGX.

According to him, excess drag on the FGX is probably not due to gearbox, but to the rear suspension generating a lot of grip, and overtaxing the motor at cornering. Why it loses out to direct drive cars on exit. That makes sense to me as my gearbox spins very free. Tire resistance due to excess mechanical grip is probably the culprit. His solution, lessen rear grip by lessening rear roll.

Tip: Keep the rear suspension soft but lessen roll. Put 3mm spacers under rear upper a-arms attaching to the gearbox (to lessen roll). Ride height as low as possible. Mine is 3.5 - 4mm rear and 4mm front.

Hope this helps and motivates us to keep racing this car.

p.s. here's a short video of the FGX in the race. Fast forward to 1:57. White car, black rims.

Good morning to all. I already placed an order of FGX at http://www.speedtechhobbies.com/ on 15th of Oct and I haven't got any progress on the status of my order. Still on processing after 48 hours. Tried to email them about it no reply up to this moment. Anyone here tried ordering from them. Does it take that long? Thanks in advance. Have a good day!
