Theoretically speaking, you should be able to mesh a 41t pinion to the optional 35t spur gear, so (35 / 41)x 2.71 = 2.31fdr..., but I believe with some grinding of the posts I can fit a 43t pinion gear (35 / 43)x 2.71 = 2.20 fdr..... OK !!!!
Agreed, you get the math, but why such a high FDR? I still don't get why you're goal is such short gearing. You'll lose punch and the top end will take forever to get to. Unless you have a massive straight, what is the benefit?

Having seen bog standard FGX's vs 104's and the Modified versions, the FGX is not super fast, and it does require some work to get going properly. We had over 10 F1's on track last weekend... my X1, a HPI F10, and the aforementioned FGX/104 hybrid were the fastest cars. A normal FGX (but with a link style front end for the top front wishbone) was also quick, but was running TC foams, whilst the rest of us were on spec rubber tyres, and all 21.5 blinky as well.

But like I said before, hasn't stopped me buying and building an FGX. I have mine built and sitting at home already, just finishing the electrics install and shell off. Will try and get some pictures tonight posted up.

And seriously, your comment about the tracks, jee's dude, do you ever think about what you write?

Bit the bullet, bought 4 sets of spurs (with the 35, 39, 41 and 43), 2 of the kit gear sets: shaft gears and spur gear(43), some of the 4mm wide locking wheel adapters, and pinions from 30 to 38. All from RC Mart. The largest 48 pitch pinion I came across when searching was a 47 on the Robinson web site. I should have mine built and painted with the 21.5 just in time for the spurs and pinions to arrive next week. I'm hoping the car makes it by Friday, but chances are Monday. Oh well. RC Mart still isn't stocking anything but the cars and the parts that interchange with the FF. It would have been nice to get some extra wings and another body for the FXG.

I don't have the dimensions, but it's big, easily takes my 25mm tall lipo's, with plenty of space around the pack. Will need to put some foam on the battery door to stop the pack moving around, or I'll just tape the pack in (four screws, pop off a few ball joints, and it's easy to take the top deck off).

Only real issue I've had is that I had to space the servo up a little, so the ball joint and horn clear the top of the pack. 1.5mm shims between the servo and posts helped here, and I raised the ball joint on the steering the same amount.

HiH
