alum. hexes I used ones off my hot bodies cyclone . shaved them a bit ..no binding and very free spinning axcels ..

how do I work out the FDR with the fast gear set 35t spur, I don't know the internal g/box ratio....

and what is a good FDR to start off with 21.5 blinky?

I'm running pinion 25t as that is the biggest it will fit at the moment without any dremeling yet, car seems slow compared to the tamiya's that I have seen, although have not had a side by side comparison on track yet, but that's my observations so far.

Something like this should help (paste it into a spreadsheet to get the columns to line up):

Thanks for all the nice words guys, apart from driving it, building it is part of the fun and as for its looks, I know its not going to last.

For the undertray, its a 1mm cut piece of CF. This for 21.5 would have no advantage other than adds more weight, though I agree looks nice and you can remove or cut off the undertray extension of the lexan body, I did the same thing with my F201 years back and though Ill do the same with this F1....Its also for puncturing others tires...
I chose 1mm for strength, though .5mm would also do the trick and can be cut with heavy duty scissors, the 1mm will need to be dremeled out unless you get it laser cut etc..
In the attached pic, Ive outlined the rough template or shape I used for the plate, its secure and placed in with 3 screws, servo mounts and a bolt on other side behind lipo support post, as well as double sided tape under the whole thing.

Can see all sorts of tweak problems with that upper deck - Not hitting anthing usually helps though !

did you guys have to grind down the aluminum motor
mount in order to allow for bigger gearing? if so can somebody post a picture? thanks.

There are two problematic areas with the FGX the front arms and the upper deck are fragile. There are a couple of fixes for the front arms, reinforce with shoe goo and piano wire, or replace the arms with Exotek top and reinforce the lowers with the Exotek brace.

I have the Exotek conversion and highly recommend it.
